Univision Communications (UCI) has partnered with Verizon. Content from a variety of Univision’s programming properties will be seen on Verizon’s Go90 mobile streaming service. Go90 users will be able to access to Univision’s digital network Flama, as well as Univision News.
YouTube channel How to Make Everything has joined the MCN Collective Digital Studio. The channel has almost 32,000 YouTube subscribers.
Online ticket sales company Fandango is launching FandangoLabs, a research and development division with the target of innovating moviegoing products and services, including making the moviegoing experience a more convenient one with such items as advanced ticketing to drive theater attendance. FandangoLabs will explore avenues across location-based services, social commerce, augmented and virtual reality, interactive video, and personalization among others, with an eye on releasing products in 2016.
YouTube stars Caspar Lee and Joe Sugg as well as Dom Smales, the Managing Director and Founder of social media management agency Gleam Futures, have launched Raucous Productions, a new production studio. Raucous’s first project, called Joe and Caspar Hit the Road, well center on a European road trip taken by Lee and Sugg. BBC Worldwide is co-producing the project with Raucous.

Independent film and television distributor Alchemy has named Scott Guthrie as COO, Jim Jenkins will be upped from SVP to the EVP Strategic Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions and Norbert Hudak will be the SVP Affinity Pods & Business Development. Before Alchemy, Guthrie was the EVP of Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment and also spent 10 years with the Walt Disney Company. Jenkins previously worked at Sony Digital Audio Disc Corporation’s SVP Business Development. Huak was previously the SVP of Brand Management for the Cinedigm Corp.
Teri Weiss has been named the SVP, Head of Kids/Family Development and Production in the newly created Universal Kids Productions group at Universal Pictures with the goal of searching through the studio’s IP portfolio and develop original content for all platforms, both on its own and through partnerships. Teri previously was the EVP Original Programming for the Preschool Division at Nickelodeon where she worked in various roles for 16 years.

John Partilla has benne named the replacement to Travis Reid as CEO of Screenvision and will start in May. Partilla was recently the CEO of Minneapolis ad agency Olson. Previous to that he was COO of Dentsu Network West, Global Media Sales President for Clear Channel Communications and Global Media Group President for Time Warner.

Sirena Liu has been named in the newly created position of Managing Director, China for Twentieth Century Fox. She recently headed the entertainment marketing company FilMworks China, which she founded in 2010 and sold two years later to global advertising conglomerate WPP. She will be located in China and will supervise the studio’s Beijing office.
